3 Ton Electric Forklift for Malaysia Warehouse Delivery

Last Update : 2026-10-21

Delivery Background

In October 2026, Shandong Lead Mining Equipment Co., Ltd. (SDLD / Leadmac) shipped four 3 ton electric forklifts to Malaysia. The equipment was consigned to Port Klang for warehouse operations involving palletised goods, including receiving, put-away and order picking.

This delivery builds on Leadmac's previous business in the Malaysian market. An earlier order supplied 2 ton lithium electric forklifts to a warehousing and transshipment operator replacing an ageing internal-combustion fleet. Read more in our Malaysian warehouse case study.

The latest order moves up to the 3 ton capacity class. This configuration is suitable for warehouses handling heavier palletised raw materials, finished goods and racking components, where lifting capacity, maneuverability and operational efficiency must be balanced.

Vehicle Configuration

The equipment supplied is the Leadmac 3 Ton Multi-Purpose Electric Forklift, with a rated lifting capacity of 3,000 kg. The four-unit batch was configured for the customer's warehouse requirements.

Key specifications:
   Rated capacity: 3,000 kg
Mast configuration: 3 m duplex mast
   Standard fork length: 1,220 mm
   Overall dimensions: 2,830 × 1,200 × 2,200 mm
   Wheelbase: 1,980 mm
   Minimum ground clearance: 95 mm
   Mast material: 14.8# national-standard steel
Mast tilt: 6° forward and 12° backward
   Electrical system: 60 V
   Traction motor: 7.5 kW
   Lifting motor: 7.5 kW
Battery configuration: Ten maintenance-free 86 Ah battery units
Gradeability: 15% unloaded and 13% loaded
   Front tyres: 650-10
   Rear tyres: 500-8
   Front tread: 1,040 mm
   Rear tread: 920 mm

A three-section mast with a lifting height of up to 6 m is also available in the product range. Its lifting capacity at maximum height is approximately 750 kg, subject to the specified configuration. For this shipment, the 3 m duplex mast was selected because it matched the warehouse's actual racking requirements.

Two battery chargers accompany the four forklifts to support the customer's charging arrangements between shifts.

Application Fit for Malaysian Warehouses

Compact dimensions for warehouse aisles:
Warehouse productivity depends not only on lifting capacity but also on the floor space required for turning and stacking. With overall dimensions of 2,830 × 1,200 mm, the forklift is designed for material handling in warehouses and loading areas. The customer's layout requires an operating aisle of approximately 3.5 m for right-angle stacking with 1.2 m pallets, subject to the actual load dimensions, turning geometry and handling clearances.

Battery and shift planning:
Malaysia's year-round warm climate makes battery selection, charging arrangements and operating practices important considerations for electric forklift fleets. The supplied batch uses a 60 V electrical system with ten maintenance-free 86 Ah battery units per truck. The customer plans to operate a single eight-hour shift, with two chargers shared across the four forklifts. Actual runtime depends on load weight, operating intensity, ambient temperature and charging practices.

Suitable for indoor floors and dock ramps:
The 95 mm minimum ground clearance and 13% loaded gradeability make this configuration suitable for sealed warehouse floors and appropriate loading dock ramps. It is intended primarily for controlled warehouse environments rather than rough, muddy or unimproved terrain.

For applications involving outdoor yards, uneven stone surfaces, mud or sloping ground, buyers can explore the Leadmac all-terrain forklift range to find a configuration better suited to the working environment.

Pre-Shipment Inspection and Container Loading

Before dispatch, every forklift undergoes a pre-shipment inspection to verify its operating condition and ensure that the supplied configuration matches the order requirements. The inspection process includes the following checks:

Mast operation and chain inspection:
The mast is cycled through its operating range to check chain tension, smooth movement and abnormal drift.

Hydraulic system inspection:
Cylinders, hoses and connections are checked for leakage and visible abnormalities.

Rated-load and braking tests:
The forklift is tested at its rated capacity, and braking performance is checked under unloaded and loaded conditions.

Electrical and instrument checks:
Electrical insulation, instruments and relevant electrical functions are inspected before shipment.

The completed inspection record accompanies the shipping documentation. These procedures help verify the condition of each unit before it leaves the factory.

The four electric forklifts were loaded into a single 40HQ container. Before loading, the masts were lowered and secured, forks were removed where required by container clearance, and the batteries were isolated in accordance with the applicable loading and transport procedures.

The forklifts were secured with transport lashings rather than individually crated. This is a practical loading arrangement for counterbalance forklifts of this size. The four units occupy approximately 11.3 metres of nominal combined vehicle length, with the final loading arrangement determined by positioning, securing points and container clearance.

After-Sales Support and Spare Parts

Documentation for the supplied configuration:
Each forklift is supplied with an operation manual, parts catalogue and wiring diagram corresponding to the configuration ordered. These documents help the customer identify components, carry out routine maintenance and support fault diagnosis.

Spare parts for routine maintenance:
Tyres, hydraulic filters, mast chains and brake linings are important consumables and wear parts that affect long-term fleet availability. Replacement parts can be ordered from the factory using the supplied parts catalogue, helping customers identify the correct components for their equipment.

Technical assistance and warranty:
Standard warranty terms and spare parts conditions are confirmed at the quotation stage. Remote technical support can assist with troubleshooting by referring to the equipment's wiring diagram, operating information and available fault codes, including situations where a local service point is not involved.

For warehouse operators evaluating a first purchase, the key considerations are the exact model specifications, documented pre-shipment inspection and clearly defined after-sales coverage. Leadmac can provide the relevant information for the proposed configuration upon request.
